Bute Healthy Living Initiative - Working with the Community to improve Health & Wellbeing

RESOURCE AND INFORMATION NETWORK
Our Training and Resource Centre at Longhill Crescent houses a variety of agencies: The Healthy Living Initiative, The Step Up Project Skills, Training, Education, People, Community Development, Family Resource Centre, and Women's Aid. Other groups and agencies, such as Bute Advice Centre, Bute Credit Union etc. will be invited to have an outreach post at certain times. CLICK HERE TO SEE WHERE WE ARE You can book out rooms for meetings and workshops or courses. There is full internet access and supported sessions are staffed by Mentors and Tutors of the Step Up project. They are for those on computer courses or if you get stuck on your own computer at home. We also have a LATEST NEWS page that is regularly updated with information. We also have a range of IT resources such as an up to date Funding Website Licence. The Step Up Project supports Community groups on how to use the site so that they can benefit from this resource. There is a library with books and information on Health and Complementary Therapies.
The garden around the building is being transformed into a community garden to provide a green space, an oasis, for those who use the building, as well as being open to the public. Some examples of the work can be seen on our Photo Gallery page. Landscaping, bulb planting, shed building are all activities planned for the garden and we are looking for volunteers to help transform this piece of ground into an oasis.
